Hiromasa is a roboticist who gifts Suzie the robot Sunny.

Biography[]

Hiro is a roboticist who previously worked with Masa Sakamoto.

Appearances[]

He's in Refrigerators[]

When Suzie returns home, Yuki greets her as a former co-worker of her husband. He then delivers to her Sunny a robot made just for her. The revelation surprised Suzie since her husband worked in refrigerators; however, Yuki revealed that the division was transferred to Myanmar twelve years ago. Despite Suzie's apprehension about receiving Sunny, she succumbs to the pressure and asks that she learn how to turn Sunny off, which Yuki informs her how, and she does it. With that, Yuki leaves Suzie's home.

Eventually, Suzie visits the ImaTech company in search of Yuki, as a Christmas party is being held there. When she asks a worker there for him, she's led to a man who shares his name instead.

There’s Been a Shift[]

When Suzie and Mixxy search for the third person, they track Yuki doing laundry on the basement floor of his apartment complex. When the two confront him, Yuki claims they need to talk.

Trash or Not-Trash[]

Noriko contacts Yuki to try to reason with the hikikomori Masa. He talks to Masa through the door in his room and gives him a tip on a game he was playing, citing he was a QA for the game Masa was playing. From there, Yuki admits he's his real father, Hiromasa, and invites Masa to stay at his cabin.

Masa decides to, and he finds pictures of Noriko and Hiromasa together. He then befriends a trash bot named Shō, and Hiromasa secretly visits Masa one night and catches them happily interacting with each other. Hiromasa informs Noriko about this and invites her to witness it herself. She agrees, but Noriko requests that they do it at separate times.

Eventually, Noriko visits Hiromasa's cabin and talks to Hiromasa as Masa and the trash bot, Shō, return to the cabin. Upon seeing them, Masa labels them as trash, and Shō attacks Hiromasa, who kicks off his arm. Taking Shō's side, Masa deduces that it was a plot conceived by Noriko, who abruptly leaves after Masa deduces it.

In the present, Hiromasa talks to Suzie about why Masa didn't tell her anything about his past to her. Mixxy then informs them that she's discovered a fourth GPS tracker, and they all head to its location, where Hiromasa and Mixxy separate from Suzie.

Who's in the Box?[]

Hiromasa briefly appears in a flashback when Masa brings Sunny to his cabin to reprogram her.

The Dark Manual[]

Hiro, along with Mixxy, is caged by the Yakuza in the temple basement and is soon joined by Suzie and Zen. After introducing Zen to everyone, Hiro asks what triggered Sunny to attack Mixxy, which he learns stemmed from an argument between them. This leads Hiro to conclude that the Yakuza wants Sunny's malignant code so that they can implement it into other robots.

Eventually, Noriko contacts Suzie's device, and this leads to Noriko realizing that the Yakuza guarding them is the son of her old friend, Yoko. After Noriko threatens to kill Yoko if the Yakuza doesn't release Suzie and the others, under pressure, the Yakuza does so, and Suzie and the others leave. Still, Mixxy stays behind to deal with the Yakuza.

Hiro follows Suzie and Zen outside, where they get masks to disguise themselves. He briefly parts ways with Suzie, who uses the stage to say the code words that awaken Sunny. Later, Hiro reunites with Suzie, Zen, and Mixxy, where they find Sunny, who is afraid she'll hurt them if she stays with Suzie. Hence, Hiro suggests Sunny get the malignant code from his friend in Tokyo and Mixxy volunteers to drive her there.

Eventually, Hiro takes Suzie and Zen to Hiro's cabin to stay safe from the Yakuza, who are likely after them.
